A chemistry workshop for teachers at the 2014 Cambridge Science Festival

Updated on 5/1/2014

2014 Cambridge Science Festival  part of the programs for educators

I pitched this idea of a teachers-only event at the 2014 Cambridge Science Festival to the festival organizers and they loved it so much, they added several educator-only events to the slate!

We were the first up on festival opening night!

FRIDAY EVENING APRIL 18, 2014

Teacher Workshop led by

Dr. Al Hazari

MOTIVATE YOUR STUDENTS' MOLECULES

Jennifer Maclachlan, Cambridge Science Festival Teacher Workshop Organizer and Dr. Al Hazari, Cambridge Science Festival Teacher Workshop Facilitator April 18, 2014 at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA.

Dr. Al Hazari,  wowed participants  with his chemistry-based magic show and inspired them to bring these ideas, strategies and kitchen-chemistry experiments  to their students in their own teaching environment.

Friday evening April 18, 2014 at The Broad Institute in Cambridge was an educational experience exclusive to teachers.

5pm: Networking reception with hors d'oeuvres prepared by Baker's Best Catering.

530pm-730pm: Show me the Chemistry! followed by Motivating your students' molecules workshop
730pm-8pm: Networking  reception with Dessert and  Coffee

I live tweeted during this event, using the hashtag #showmethechemistry. See my tweets below.

To read about the public outreach event that Dr. Hazari and I did the following morning, see my blog post here.

Advance registration for this event was required. Registration link is available here.

This Teacher Workshop Cambridge Science Festival Event was organized by the American Chemical Society Northeastern Local Section (NESACS) Public Relations Committee: Jennifer Maclachlan and Jack Driscoll. NESACS and PID Analyzers, LLC were sponsors of this event.
